About this role

As a member of the Personal Care Home team, the Personal Care Home Aide assists residents by providing care that allows them to function at their highest level. Services are for residents over 18 years of age regardless of age, race, religion, and cultural background. Majority of residents served are elderly.

Assist residents with ADLs including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and transferring. Help with medication administration and serving meals to assure adequate nutrition and hydration. Make rounds, anticipate needs, and respond to call bells in a timely manner.

Report to supervisor any changes observed in residents' condition and behavior. Assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment while complying with all federal, state, and local regulations. Complete required documentation to support resident care.

Training and certification provided upon hiring, including medication administration, CPR, First Aid, and direct care courses. Participate in annual 12-hour training and attend staff meetings. Join Guthrie's tradition of excellence in health care.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Maintains Medication Administration Certification, CPR and First Aid certification
  • Complete Department-approved medications administration course and diabetes education for blood glucose testing
  • Successful completion and passing of Department-approved direct care training course and competency test
  • Ability to read, write, and understand written and oral communication
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Experience preferred, but not required
