About this role
The Registered Nurse is a professional nurse registered in Massachusetts, responsible and accountable for planning and providing patient care for assigned patients in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care. This role involves demonstrating initiative, knowledge, and clinical skills in caring for patients with complex needs. The nurse assumes full responsibility for assessment, plan, implementation, and evaluation of patient care, reporting to a designated nurse manager.
Accountable for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating a plan of care for specific patient assignments, the nurse sets priorities for patients with varying acuity. Maintains continuity through clear and concise verbal and written communication. Documents patient care in a manner that is clear, complete, concise, and compliant with nursing standards.
Develops comprehensive educational and discharge plans for patients and families, utilizing appropriate resources. Administers medications safely, performs procedures efficiently, and uses equipment properly. Collaborates professionally with patients, families, colleagues, and other disciplines while participating in quality improvement programs.

Requirements
- Registered Nurse licensed in Massachusetts
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing for newly licensed nurses
- Demonstrates initiative, knowledge, and clinical skills for patients with complex needs
- Appropriate knowledge of growth and development of adult and geriatric patients
- Ability to effectively manage patients by assuming full responsibility for care
- Awareness of potential infection risks and modes of transmission
- Utilizes universal precautions in nursing practice
- Interacts professionally with patients, families, and colleagues
