About this role

We are currently seeking a Staff Nurse to join our Inpatient Float Pool. This 0.75 FTE position involves 5 shifts per pay period on 12-hour night shifts, every third weekend. The role primarily supports critical care units (MICU, SICU, Burn) and intermediate care units, floating to med/surg as needed.

Within the Hennepin Healthcare System Patient and Family Centered Care model, under general supervision, the registered nurse provides and coordinates nursing care. This includes protecting, promoting, and optimizing health while preventing illness and injury. Nurses alleviate suffering through treatment of the human response and partner with patients, families, and significant others.

The nurse documents interventions and an individualized plan of care. Hennepin Healthcare is an integrated system with a 473-bed academic medical center, Level I Adult and Pediatric Trauma Centers, outpatient clinics, psychiatric program, home care, research institute, and Hennepin EMS.

Requirements

  • 1 year of ICU or 2 years of intermediate care RN experience
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
  • Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Minnesota
  • Ability to provide care across critical care, intermediate, and med/surg units
  • Knowledge of Patient and Family Centered Care model
