About this role

Join the team at Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital on the 4 North Medical/Surgical Unit. Provide medical attention for diverse patients experiencing GI distress, respiratory issues, seizures, and other symptoms. As a PRN Patient Care Nursing Assistant, coordinate with caregivers to create a welcoming, healing environment for patients.

Assist nursing caregivers by promoting patient comfort and carrying out nursing orders. Transport patients by wheelchair, bed, or stretcher, conduct EKG and phlebotomy duties, and attend to patient and family needs. Help with daily living activities such as dressing, bathing, hygiene, tray setup, and feeding.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon hire
  • Ability to perform EKG procedures
  • Phlebotomy skills
  • Completion of nurse aide training program
  • Nursing student status preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist nursing caregivers, promote patient comfort and carry out nursing orders
  • Transport patients by wheelchair, bed or stretcher from the department/unit
  • Conduct EKG and phlebotomy duties
  • Attend to patient and family needs and problems
  • Assist patients with daily living activities, such as dressing, bathing and hygiene
  • Report pertinent information regarding patient condition to appropriate nursing staff
  • Assist patients with tray set up and feeding
  • Document care provided in the medical record
