About this role

Under the supervision of the Detox Clinical Supervisor, the Agency Nurse oversees the nursing and medical needs of ATS clients. This role ensures quality of care, staff supervision and training, and compliance with agency policies and procedures, state licensing regulations, and CARF accreditation standards.

Day-to-day responsibilities include communicating with referral sources and outside agencies about clients' health and medical needs. The nurse coordinates medical services provided to ATS clients and delivers education sessions on health and medical issues to both clients and staff.

The role involves serving as a member of the Safety Committee and an ad hoc member of the Clinical Team. This position supports a collaborative environment focused on substance use treatment in a detox setting.

Opportunities include applying specialized knowledge in substance use care, such as withdrawal and denial management, while contributing to team safety and clinical decisions. The role fosters professional engagement through committee participation and client education.

Requirements

  • Possess current R.N. license
  • Knowledge and experience regarding client care issues related to substance use including withdrawal and denial
  • Knowledge of community referral resources
  • Basics of psychiatric and medical nursing
  • Effective communication and organization skills
  • State certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) preferred
  • National nursing specific substance abuse certification preferred
  • Valid driver’s license, current CPR and First Aid Certification

Responsibilities
