About this role

This agency nursing position is for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Registered Nurses (RNs) in Long Term Care facilities. PRN 12-hour night shifts and weekends are available north of Indianapolis. Nurses focus on resident daily care, health needs, safety, and comfort.

Nurses assure restorative nursing care measures are performed as indicated and ordered. They maintain open communication with nursing management on unit conditions and concerns for staff, residents, and visitors. Treatment goals and expectations are explained to residents and families for feedback and cooperation.

Nurses supervise and manage personnel on their unit. They review medication systems and clinical records to verify proper maintenance and updates. Daily assignments of nursing staff are reviewed to ensure consistency with abilities and training.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Possess a valid RN or LPN license in good standing according to State and Federal requirements
Ability to provide resident-centered care in long-term care settings
Knowledge of restorative nursing care measures
Proficiency in medication administration and clinical record review
Supervisory skills for managing nursing personnel

Responsibilities

Provide daily care, health needs, safety, and comfort of the resident
Assure restorative nursing care measures are performed as indicated and ordered
Maintain open communication with nursing management on conditions of the nursing unit and concerns related to staff, residents, and visitors
Explain treatment goals and expectations to the resident and family to obtain feedback and cooperation
Supervise and manage personnel on the unit
Review medication system and clinical records to verify medical records are properly maintained and updated
Review daily assignments of nursing staff to assure assigned duties are consistent with ability and training
Assist and instruct nursing staff on unit in special treatments and nursing care
